Design and assembly of the Guide Chamber:

An autoguiding camera was designed based on a Samsung SCB2000P camera which is recognized by the MetaGuide software.

The camera was modified in order to eliminate weight on the telescope. The CCD circuit was disassembled and a 1m extension was made to the body of the camera, which is attached to the side of the telescope's Dobson mount.

For the manufacture of the extension, 2 FPC-20P 0.5MM adapter circuits were used, one connected to the CCD circuit and the other connected to the body of the camera, which have the purpose of adapting the 20-pin flat cable to a flat cable output of 20 threads of 1 meter. In this way the signal is transmitted smoothly, eliminating almost all the weight of the camera from the optical tube.

Tube balancing (tubeless):

The tube was balanced by placing counterweights to balance both at 90 ° and 0 °; in this way the autoguiding is carried out correctly since the DEC engine makes only small efforts to make the corrections that Metaguide infers on the PicGoto. For the vertical balance it was necessary to add a permanent counterweight secured with two ends which weighs 0.750 Kg. For the horizontal counterweight, two counterweights were made, one for the use of a Web camera and the other for the use of the Canos EOS Rebel T5 camera. The counterweight for the webcam is made of iron and weighs approx. 0.130 Kg while the counterweight for the Canon camera has a weight of 0.480 Kg.

Counterweight positioned for webcam work

Counterweight Movements Test:

The movement test was performed in both Declination and Right Ascension for both webcam and Canon EOS Rebel T5 camera. The result was the modification of some parameters of the Picgoto software in Prescaler and speed. It was also regulated in the Declination motorization system since it gave problems when taking the tube pointing well to the north. For both types, webcam and Canon, the result was very good and the mount responded perfectly.
